About the Workshop

Cognition, emotions, social skills, and behavior go hand in hand. Our early interactions and experiences with our caregivers/educators create the foundation for healthy relationships and social/emotional development. We want children to learn how to label, identify, and understand their thoughts and feelings in themselves and how their thoughts and feelings can impact others. We want our kids to grow up to be empathic, flexible thinkers, and have the ability to problem-solve with their peers during play/social situations. In this session, participants will learn the building blocks of social development and gain a deeper understanding of how to incorporate tools, strategies, and explicit social thinking language/concepts [based on Social Thinking © by Michelle Garcia Winner] to help children connect their thoughts, feelings, and behavior.
