Workshops & Professional Development

Many of the therapists and professionals at Woven Blessings provide workshops, professional development and education sessions to daycares, schools and community agencies and caregivers. Many of our workshops are approved for the Professional Development Grant for educators by the Government of Alberta.

Each workshop is approximately 1 hour long with an additional hour of direct coaching from a Woven Blessings Team member

Fine Motor Strategies for Success

This workshop is designed for caregivers and educators who want  to learn about fine motor development and its significance in children's overall growth. Through a mix of visuals, videos, and interactive activities, participants will learn to recognize the developmental stages of motor skills and implement play-based strategies to foster fine motor skill development for ages 0-5.

Fostering Play, Connection & Emotional Regulation

Helping children feel secure, listened to, and connected impacts their ability to manage their emotions effectively. This workshop aims to educate adults on establishing a secure environment for children's development and provides ideas on how to nurture friendships. Participants will also gain insights into teaching children about emotional awareness across multiple environments.

How Sensory Processing & Relationships Affect Behavior

This workshop assists educators and caregivers in understanding the 8 different sensory systems and utilizing sensory tools to help children regulate their body. Additionally, it explores how co-regulation and other relationship-building techniques can either calm or have the power to dysregulate children and how to decide when and HOW to use sensory tools to promote positive behavior.

Eating Breakfast

Mealtime Battles & Picky Eating

This session equips caregivers with effective strategies to encourage healthy eating habits in children. The session will cover a variety of topics, including understanding the root causes of picky eating, creating a positive mealtime environment, and introducing new foods in a way that minimizes resistance.  By the end of the workshop, participants will leave feeling more confident and empowered to make mealtimes a more enjoyable and nutritious

Executive Functioning -  Practical Strategies for Success

During the workshop, caregivers will learn about the various ways executive functioning can impact a child's academic performance, social interactions, and daily life. Participants will gain insights into identifying signs of executive function challenges and will be equipped with practical strategies to support children in developing these essential skills across many situations and environments.
